My gorgeous assistant Stavroula is off O.S next week so I am taking over the blogging. I'm sure I won't be as entertaining but ya never know! We have loved every minute we have spent with Stav and she will be missed, especially her colourful attire.
Greta and I wait with baited breath to see what wonderful concoction of clothing Stav will turn up in. Will she have fluro tennis ball coloured hair with a hotdog pinned to the curl or will there be a tiny surfer riding the same curl in her hair........we will definitely miss every bit of Stavroula.
She is off to Vegas, I get to meet up and party with her in only two weeks. Then our gorgeous girl will be working for none other than Patricia Field in New York. We wish her all things wonderful. I think Adelaide may be a little too small for our girl.
On the H.C. front we are getting geared up for the big Kustom Kulture Weekend at the Highway Inn. Ginger and I will be having a stall in the same spot at the back by the bar. We will be selling off samples and seconds CHEAP to make way for all the new Trailer Trash garments. We have been selling the new range even before it hits the website so were a bit excited to see what happens when it does. Ginger will be selling her Day of the Bed skulls so come say hi. Stay tuned. Joy's Weekend of L-U-R-V-E
Joy had a wonderful weekend full of declarations of love (and sh*ts 'n' giggles) when she attended dedicated Hot Couture customer Kylie Lyon's beautiful wedding! Joy designed the bridesmaid's frocks and if you look closely they are modifications of new HC styles 'Loretta', 'Marilyn', 'Ginger Tight' and 'Lolita'! Congratulations to Kylie and her now manservant, I mean husband James on a fabulous wedding and to many happy years together!
NAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!!!! Best of luck to you crazy kids!

Hot Couture Sample Sale at Kustom Kulture!
So it's that time of the year again people....Adelaide's Kustom Kulture weekend is happening on the 19th, 20th and 21st of March and Hot Couture will be holding a sellout stall of some samples, plus selections of Joy's personal archive she's getting seriosu about selling (we're talking vintage wheels & dollbaby and genuine american 50s wares here kids). Come on down, have a peruse and pick up some Hot Couture samples that have been patiently waiting at HC HQ for your arrival!

Fashion Shoot on Saturday
Well hi there, Hot Couturiers!
It's been so busy here at HC HQ that we haven't even mustered up the gumption to sit in front of a computer for more than 0.75 seconds, so here goes with the much belated updates!
THIS SATURDAY 27th MARCH we will be shooting the Autumn/Winter Hot Couture range at Anifex Studios in Kent Town starring a cavalcade of retro beauties. Joy is pleased to announce that the lovely Pia Andersen will be strutting her stuff for the cameras all the way from sunny Sydney, alongside roller derby dolls Sarah Easter and Nikki Ward.
How amazingly gorgeous is Pia...she makes me renounce my atheism in favour of the big man upstairs that's for sure. What. A. WOMAN!
Nikki is the newest rose to enter the echelons of Hot Couture model stardom and she is a hotty to trotty. Check out those peepers - jeepers creepers!
Meanwhile, this broad here seems all peaches and cream but Sarah is one devil broad from the other side of hell. Don't be fooled by the demure telephone - this woman is a veritable she-devil from the planet hotness and that's the truth Ruth!
The shoot will be facilitated by he following dream team:
Fashion Director - Joy Taylor

Makeup and Hair - Jen Rossiter
Styling - Stephanie Mountzouris and Greta Rumsby

The range consists of some pretty ama-zing new items that are sure to stun - including my favourite, extremely high-waisted capri pants that are high enough to wear a 3 inch belt with. HUZZAH FINALLY! SOME PERFECT FITTING CAPRI PANTS THAT ARE ACTUALLY FLATTERING AND MADE OF HIGH QUALITY FABRIC! I've been praying for eons for said capris and Joy has answered my personal plea that all you dames and braods can reap the benefits of too. ROAR!
And wait til you see what else Joy has in store for you.

NEWSFLASH!
It's been a helluva busy week here at HC headquarters and here's a neat lil' roundup of all our current projects on the boil:
1. Joy and I will be hitting the VIVA LAS VEGAS rockabilly festival in April for a weekend of trashy madness! We will not be selling our wares BUT we will indeed be spreading the word about HC and drinking hooch out of cowboy boots! So Money! You will find us handing out postcards throughout the weekend and/or lounging by the pool at the Flamingo. See ya at the Tiki pool party!
2. Work is going strong on Kylie Lyons' faaabulous bridesmaid frocks and the top secret designs will be unleashed on the blog only after the wedding is over. Ooh! Aah!
3. Continuing the oh-so-delightful relationship with the Adelaide Roller Derby League (ARDL) Hot Couture is proud to announce that we are the official designer of the new uniforms for the MILE DIE CLUB and SALTY DOLLS!
And one little note that is of interest to all you sportsfans....
4. Joy is very happy to make any Hot Couture style in the fabric of your choice, so long as you provide her with fabric! This means that AMAZING atomic fabric you bought at Catwalk a few years ago (that's probably sitting at the bottom of your wardrobe) can now live again as a Lolita Tight or Bardot Evening! Customers, send us an email at hotcouture@bigpond.com outlining the nature of the fabric (cotton, viscose, lycra etc.) and Joy will do her best to turn your idea into a fully fledged Hot Couture frock!

Happy Little Campers
Joyleen sure does run a tight ship here at HC HQ...barely a day goes by in the studio sans a dummy spit and 10 lashings to the lower deck should we misbehave with Bob. Greta and I cowl in fear at Joy's cruel managerial tyranny - oh the horror, lunch in beautiful Stirling again - and to prove just how horrible it is making pretty frocks in a pretty place, here are the photos to prove it!
